History

The idea starts when here in our city the places for new groups playing are become rare. And our country cross a great recession. So,we decided find a place where we put together new rock bands and help the poor people of our country. The first gig happens in July,5, 1995. The place is Teatro de Arena (Arena's Theater)(the place,the sign outside) a small place, but comfortable.It can hold a 150 persons, and it is the ideal place for a new band starts, we don't need a lot of amplification an the acoustic of the place is great.

Structure, policy and goals

The shows happens twice in a month, always with 4 or 5 new bands. The "ticket" is 1kg of non-perecible food or a cloth. Our policy is : the band want to play? The band play ! We don't make any kind of censorship or selection. The styles are from Thrash Metal to Blues, have place for any kind of band, pop to Noise, classical and experimental. We made a real democratic place where the people have voice.

Sponsor

We Don't have !! All equipment is from bands!! One amplifier is give us from a Musical Instrument store, this rest is give by bands, the bands are Pieta, Punishment, Causa Mortis, Herculoids. We try a little sponsorship, but the people don't care about help poor people,it seems... (the stage ).
We share with the bands the costs of copies of Signs for divulgation of events and transportation of drum set.Its About US$18,00 per band. Them,the sponsor is made by the groups in a share-co-production event.
For Information:we use two Peaveys for Guiters, one Meteoro(Brasilian) for bass,TAMA Drum Set, a Martin Sons(Brasiliasn) for vocals. We have no PA Amplifier, the place is small with good acoustic.
All donations in equipment are acceptable call us !!
